Professional Misconduct
Member:  Dr. Ryan Stoyko

By an Agreed Statement of Facts and Guilty Plea dated June 23, 2016, Dr. Stoyko admitted that he practiced needle insertion acupuncture, having failed to provide evidence to the Board of the requisite acupuncture training as set out in clause 19(e)(8)of The Chiropractic Regulatory Bylaws, and having failed to meet additional requirements for continued competency in acupuncture as set out in CAS Policy F on Acupuncture, and that he is thereby guilty of professional misconduct pursuant to section 27(c) of The Chiropractic Act, 1994.

The Board of the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan accepted a joint recommendation as to penalty and ordered as follows: 

  1. An order that Dr. Stoyko pay costs in the amount of $3,000.00;
  2. An order that Dr. Stoyko pay a fine in the amount of $5,000.00;
  3. An order that Dr. Stoyko retake and pass the Provincial Legislation and Ethics Examination; and
  4. In the event that the aforesaid costs and fine are not paid and the Provincial Examination is not successfully completed by September 30, 2016, that Dr. Stoyko’s license to practice shall thereupon be revoked and be reinstated only following full compliance with this order.

By an Agreed Statement of Facts and Guilty Plea dated June 23, 2016, Dr. Runge admitted to divulging to another member confidential information obtained in the course of his duties as a member of the Investigation Committee of the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan, and that he is thereby guilty of professional misconduct pursuant to section 27(c) of The Chiropractic Act, 1994.  

The Board of the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan accepted a joint recommendation as to penalty and ordered as follows:  Dr. Runge is hereby reprimanded and ordered to pay costs in the amount of $1,000.00.
